The feeling of Lake Tenno Scenic Ride
A ride to one of Italy's most stunning lakes
About the Lake Tenno Scenic Ride tour
A climb above Lake Garda to Lago di Tenno.
Turquoise water, a medieval village, and one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy.
This tour starts in Riva del Garda and goes up into the hills above the lake.
We follow small roads and bike paths, passing olive trees, open views and small villages along the way.
On the climb, we reach Canale di Tenno — a well-preserved medieval village with narrow streets and stone houses. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
From there, we continue up to Lago di Tenno.
At the lake, you can take a break, walk around, swim in the water or stop at a café. It's a great place to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
On the way back, we pass through Canale again. There is an option to stop for lunch at a local agriturismo with panoramic views over Lake Garda.
Why this ride is special — Lake Tenno Scenic Ride
Lago di Tenno is known for its unique color.
The water looks blue because the lake has a rocky bottom and almost no plants inside. The light reflects on the white stones and makes the color very bright and clear.
The lake was formed around 900 years ago after a large landslide blocked a small river. Over time, the water filled the basin and created the lake we see today.
Even today, the water level changes during the year. In summer, you can sometimes walk to the small island in the middle. In other seasons, it disappears under the water.
