Booking & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to direct bookings made via mtb-tour.it, WhatsApp or email. Bookings made through third-party platforms (GetYourGuide, Airbnb Experiences, Viator and others) follow the rules of those platforms.

How booking works

  1. Request. You choose an available date in the booking calendar on the website (or contact me via WhatsApp / email) and send a booking request.
  2. Provisional reservation. I personally review every request. Once accepted, you receive an email confirming that your request is received and the date is provisionally reserved for you.
  3. Deposit. To finalise the booking, a €20 deposit is required. I send you a secure payment link via WhatsApp or email. The deposit counts toward the tour price. The date is held for 48 hours — if the deposit is not paid within 48 hours, the reservation is released and the date becomes available to other guests. For groups of 3 or more riders I may ask for a higher tour-organisation deposit. It counts toward the tour price and is refundable under the standard terms — for cancellations up to 24 hours before the start. Bike rental is always paid directly at the rental shop.
  4. Confirmation. Once the deposit is received, your booking is confirmed. I contact you to agree the start time and final details.
  5. Balance. The remaining balance is paid on the day of the tour — cash or card, whichever you prefer.

Bike rental

If you need a bike, I arrange an e-bike through a trusted local rental partner. Two options are available: hardtail e-bike — €45 per person (front suspension only) and full-suspension e-bike — €65 per person (front and rear suspension). Helmet included with both. For most tours a hardtail is perfectly sufficient. On long alpine routes — Passo Tremalzo and Altissimo — a full-suspension e-bike with the largest battery is required: the extra range covers the long climb and the rear suspension keeps the descent comfortable. If a full-suspension bike is required for your chosen route, I let you know before you pay the deposit. You pay the rental directly at the shop on the day. If you ride your own bike, nothing extra is needed.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Weather

I monitor local weather before every tour. If conditions are unsafe (storms, heavy rain, dangerous wind), we adjust the start time, switch to a safer route, or move the tour to another day at no extra cost. If the tour has to be cancelled due to weather and rescheduling is not possible, the deposit is refunded in full.

Cancellation by the guide

If I have to cancel the tour for any reason, the deposit is refunded in full — or transferred to a new date, if you prefer.

Right of withdrawal

Under EU and Italian consumer law (art. 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code), the standard 14-day withdrawal right for distance purchases does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date. What protects you instead are the cancellation terms above — free cancellation with a full deposit refund up to 24 hours before the start.

Insurance

I am a guide officially qualified by Accademia Nazionale del Ciclismo and carry professional civil liability insurance (RC Professionale) covering guided riders for the duration of the tour. Personal travel or sports insurance covering mountain biking is recommended. Flexible daily policies at a reasonable price are available, for example, from ITAS: https://www.itasactive.it

Prices, applicable law and disputes

All prices shown include VAT. These terms are governed by Italian law. If you book as a consumer, any mandatory protections granted by the law of your country of residence remain unaffected. If anything is ever wrong, contact me first — I always try to resolve issues directly and fairly.
