From the sky to the trails of Lake Garda

Before mountain biking became my profession, I spent over fifteen years in air sports — wingsuit, BASE jumping, alpine flying. Multiple world and continental records certified by the FAI (registered under the spelling Alexey Shatilov), hundreds of jumps from peaks across the Alps. That world taught me to read weather, terrain and risk under real pressure, and to make decisions that keep people safe when the margins are thin.

I moved to Riva del Garda in early 2016, drew a 40-kilometre circle around the lake, and rode every trail inside it — from lake-shore gravel to the high Ledro Alps. I completed the Corso Nazionale per Guida di Mountain Bike at Accademia Nazionale del Ciclismo here in Riva, and for 2026 I hold the Maestro di Mountain Bike qualification with ACSI / Accademia.

Guida di Mountain Bike — Certified Mountain Bike Guide. Accademia Nazionale del Ciclismo, Riva del Garda (TN), Italy. Corso Nazionale per Guida di Mountain Bike. Includes professional civil-liability insurance (RC Professionale) covering guided riders for the duration of every tour.
Maestro di Mountain Bike — Instructor level. ACSI / Accademia Nazionale del Ciclismo, 2026.
Diploma in Physical Education and Sports. Smolensk State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, Russia, 1999. The foundation of 25+ years of professional work in sport. Original document on request.
Multiple FAI world and continental records in wingsuit and air sports, 2005–2020. Public in the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) records database. They matter here only because they explain how I think about weather, terrain and risk on a mountain.
