"We booked an MTB tour with Alexey to Campi in October 2025. We ride at an intermediate level and were looking for a guide who knows scenic but not too difficult trails. It was the right choice: beautiful views and a safe pace. Special thanks for the photos and stories about local history. We'll definitely be back!"

"Alexey, thank you for an amazing day! The MTB tour around Riva del Garda was the best thing I did on this trip. Special thanks for showing not only the postcard views, but also the real life of these places. The ride flew by in one breath: beautiful, interesting and very comfortable. To anyone heading to Garda — I highly recommend Alexey as a guide, you won't regret it!"

"Alexey is hands down one of the best mountain bike guides you could ask for. He knows every trail and peak in the area inside out, and he genuinely tailors the route to your level and what you want out of the ride. The scenery is stunning. He also brings his own action cameras and captures the whole experience, so you walk away with great photos and video footage. Highly recommend."

"Wow! That was awesome! I'm not a very confident cyclist, but Lex made this trip doable and pleasant. The route to Passo Tremalzo is rather challenging (at least for me), but it gave me unforgettable emotions, breathtaking views and added to my cycling skills and confidence. Absolutely to be recommended! P.S. Hope to do it with a muscular bike one day."

— Maria Fedorishcheva, Russia · 13 June 2026 · 5/5 · Google

"Alex was a great guide! We took the back ways up to the Malga Grassi rest point that only a local would know. On the way down he consistently checked that I felt safe with the pace and adjusted to what I needed. We even took a side route to get a beautiful view of Riva del Garda and the lake. Hiring a guide is worth every penny — no checking whether you're on track or which way to turn. Just ride."

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need mountain biking experience?

No — beginner-friendly tours are available, and no prior experience is needed for easy routes. For more advanced rides, some off-road experience is recommended.

Do I need my own bike?

No. We arrange an e-bike through a trusted local rental partner. Two options: hardtail e-bike €45 per person or full-suspension e-bike €65 per person, helmet included with both.

Can I use an e-bike?

Yes — and I often recommend it, especially for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. It lets you ride longer and focus on the views rather than the effort.

Is insurance included?

I am a certified guide and have professional liability insurance. I recommend you also have personal travel or sports insurance covering mountain biking.

What happens if the weather is bad?

I monitor the weather before every tour. If conditions are unsafe, we reschedule or adjust the route. If the tour is canceled due to weather, you are not charged.

How much does a tour cost?

One flat price per tour — €100–€200 depending on the route, for 1 to 6 riders sharing the same guide. Bike rental and lunch are not included.

Alexey is hands down one of the best mountain bike guides you could ask for. He knows every trail and peak in the area inside out, and he genuinely tailors the route to your level and what you want out of the ride. Whether you're after a relaxed scenic tour or something more technical, he reads the group and adjusts on the fly. The scenery along the way is stunning. You ride through some seriously beautiful mountain landscapes, and Alexey knows exactly where the best viewpoints are. He also brings his own action cameras and captures the whole experience, so you walk away with great photos and video footage without having to fumble with your phone mid-ride. If you're looking for a guide who's skilled, friendly, and goes the extra mile to make the day memorable, book with Alexey. Highly recommend.

Alex was a great guide! We took the back ways up to the Malga Grassi rest point that only a local would know. There we stopped for a drink and rested. Much better than riding the busy road up, I felt totally safe on the roads we did take. On the way down he consistently checked that I felt safe with the pace and he adjusted to what I needed to do. We even took a side route to get a beautiful view of Riva Del Garda and the lake. Hiring a guide is worth every penny in my opinion, no checking to see if you're on track or which way you need to turn. Just ride.

A nobrainer to do with Lex. He brings you to places never seen before. Taking roads away from the highway and seeing villages you can't imagine they exist! Thanks Lex for this wonderful experience. Without you we would have missed the real life of Italians living in the mountains.

Could not have asked for more! Lex is extremely professional whilst being very accommodating and catered for our every need and some. We went on two private, full day tours with him and these were set at our pace. He took care of every aspect from bike hire to table reservations. We felt safe and reassured at all times as Lex has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has a wealth of knowledge on the areas and was able to tell us the history of the area whilst taking us there to the best parts. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. We really couldn't have asked for any more and are already planning on returning and cycling more with him. Highly recommend.

This trip was a highlight of our Lake Garda trip! Besides biking Lex gave us a history of lake Garda. Lex is an amazing guide and a biker. He made sure we all had a great time, were safe and enjoyed our day. He was taking photos and videos along the way. He brought us to the best photo spots on top of lake Garda with 360 views. This trip was truly a highlight of our whole trip to Dolomites and lake Garda. Thank you, Lex! We can't wait to be back!

I contacted Lex via his website to book a Mountainbike Tour near Garda lake, eventually for Monte Velo (4-5h). I have not done this before and he helped me with picking the right gear, route and all the necessary preparation (also responding to my dozen questions via mail in a quick manner). Lex knows his stuff and introduced me to the basic techniques of Mountainbiking, making sure I feel secure and comfortable while trying to show me around interesting spots along the way. I had a great time with him and would 100% do it again!

Frequently asked questions about MTB tours on Lake Garda

Is it safe to ride MTB around Lake Garda with no off-road experience?
Yes. The Lake Garda area has a wide range of trails — including smooth gravel paths and former military roads with no technical sections. As a certified guide I pick a route that matches your skill on the day, brief you on every tricky spot, and ride within your comfort zone. Beginners usually start with Monte Brione, Lago Bagattoli or the lake-shore Ponale road.
Do I need to bring my own mountain bike, or can I rent one?
Both options work. Many guests fly in and rent a hardtail, full-suspension MTB or e-MTB from local shops in Riva del Garda, Torbole or Arco. Helmet is mandatory; gloves, glasses and a small backpack with water are strongly recommended. Full kit list is sent before the tour.
Are e-bikes welcome on the tours?
Yes — every tour in the catalogue can be ridden on a standard MTB or an e-MTB. E-bikes are especially popular on longer rides (Lago di Cavedine, Lago di Tenno, Tremalzo) and for mixed-fitness groups, because the e-bike rider can stay with the strongest legs in the group.
What happens if the weather turns bad on the day of the tour?
Lake Garda has its own micro-climate and the forecast can change fast. I monitor the local weather the evening before and the morning of the tour. If conditions become unsafe (storms, heavy rain, strong wind on exposed ridges) we either move the start time, switch to a more sheltered route, or reschedule at no extra cost.
How much does a private MTB tour cost?
One flat price per tour — €100–€200 depending on the route, for 1 to 6 riders sharing the same guide. Bike rental and lunch are not included.
Is there insurance during the tour?
Yes. As a guide officially qualified by Accademia Nazionale del Ciclismo I carry professional civil liability insurance (RC Professionale) that covers guided riders for the duration of the tour. Personal accident insurance is recommended and usually included in your travel insurance.
Which languages do you guide in?
English, Italian and Russian — fluently. No translation app needed on the trail. Briefings, safety calls and stories about the area are delivered in the language the group prefers.
Where do the tours start?
Pickup is in Riva del Garda, Torbole or Arco (north shore of Lake Garda, Trentino). For guests staying in Limone, Malcesine or Nago we can agree a meeting point at the start of the route.
What do the difficulty levels mean?
Easy: bike paths and smooth gravel, no experience needed. Intermediate: confident riding on gravel mountain roads, no MTB experience required. Advanced: prior mountain riding experience and comfort on long rocky descents. Full details on our Difficulty Levels page.
Do your tours include technical singletrack?
No. Some tours have easy trail sections, but I don't guide technical singletrack: I can't assess a rider's level remotely, and I won't take safety risks with terrain that demands skills I haven't seen. For technical riding, a bike park or skills instructor is the better format.
