Torbole–Arco–Nago Family Loop — Easy Self-Guided Bike Ride on Lake Garda

An easy, scenic loop for families and relaxed riders. You follow the Sarca river cycleway to Arco, roll through Bolognano and the vineyard villages of Oltresarca, then climb to Nago on the new panoramic bike path — a steady, gentle gradient with open lake views all the way up. The descent past Busatte back to Torbole is the panoramic reward of the day.

Start anywhere on the loop. That's the beauty of a circular route: staying in Torbole, Arco or Nago, you simply join the loop from your doorstep and finish where you started — no transfer to a distant start point.

Stops along the way

Bike Farm on the Sarca cycleway — a good early pause with food, drinks and animals. AgriSalus agritur right before the Nago climb — a small petting zoo where kids can meet the animals, a bar for the adults, and horses with riding lessons available.

Practical tips

The entire loop is paved. Road sections are quiet with very little traffic. Honestly: the 188 m climb is gentle but real — it works well from about 9–10 years old, and a kids' e-bike makes it easy. For younger children the climb is likely to turn into hard work and complaints, and nobody enjoys that day; pick a flatter ride instead. E-bike is optional for adults — the gradient is easy on a regular bike too.

A note from the guide

The new panoramic bike path up to Nago changed this loop — steady gradient, open lake views the whole way up, and the Busatte descent back to Torbole is the reward. If your kids are old enough for the climb, this is one of the best half-day rides in the area.
